This catch and release lake is truly an angler’s delight. In fact, one guest said, “We were hoping Wilderness Air Escapes would forget all about us and leave us at Pilot Lake!”

Weedy bays and rocky and sandy shorelines make the 4-miles, 950 acre Pilot Lake a perfect place to try your hand at trophy northern pike and impressive walleye. The walleyes are abundant and large (not trophy size). The crystal clear water here reaches depths of 30 feet and the lake features several small islands and rocks structures to explore.

If you’re a nature lover or a photography enthusiast, this is the place for you. Our guests are always reporting sightings of moose, deer, wolves and even caribou. Tucked away among the pines, our wooden cabin sleeps eight. Gather at the water’s edge on our large deck and raise a glass to your good fortune.
